Victor Frank, a doctor,turns to surrogacy his wife, Marsha Frank, being unable to produce a second child. Him being a part owner of a fertility plant, adds extra nerve growth factor to Chromosome 6. In this, the baby, Victor Junior ("VJ") becomes a genius, being able to talk at 8 months and read in 13. He lives a life of seclusion, which is cause for concern for the psychiatrist mother, but perfectly normal to Victor. Questions begin to be raised when his brother, David, and nanny both mysteriously die from the same extremely rare strain of liver cancer. Soon though, his genius turns out to be a living nightmare for the Franks. In the end they discover that due to his genius he has become insane and is murdering people and working with cocaine dealers for money. He murdered his brother, babysitter, a teacher he didn't like and children who were created from ovum who had the same experiment done on them and could be rivals to him in the future. He dies at the end when his father sacrifices himself to kill him and destroy his work but Marsha later finds out that he implanted another woman with a child just like himself and Marsha is left at the end to decide what to do with him.
